Why We're Screening Just Eat It: A Food Waste Story
The movie Just Eat It premiered at the Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival in 2014, featuring Canadian director Grant Baldwin and Jenny Rustemeyer as they embark on a journey to eat only food that would have gone to waste for six months.
Once this couple discovered that, at the time, up to 40% of all food in North America was wasted, they had to dive deeper. The more shocking part is that nearly 12 years later, in Canada, we’re still wasting 47% of the food we produce.
If that fact leaves you feeling shocked, frustrated and ready to take action, then you should come to our film screening of Just Eat It on November 10th in Vancouver at The Park Theatre.
This Food Stash event is going to be a celebration of fighting food waste and what more we can do together.

Not only will this event be a chance to connect with food waste efforts happening right here in Vancouver, but also be a chance to be a part of our fundraising campaign that helps keep good food from being wasted.
