Chair
Joben serves as the Executive Director of Jacob’s Well, a community-focused non-profit in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside. He is a firm believer in the human ability to exert positive change and is passionate about seeing people come together to be a part of that story. Leonard Schein -
Treasurer
Leonard is the founder of the Vancouver International Film Festival and Festival Cinemas which operated the Fifth Avenue Cinemas, and the Park and Ridge Theatre. He is also a retired Registered Psychologist. He is currently on the Board of Directors of the Coast Mental Health Foundation (Chair), the David Suzuki Foundation (Vice-Chair), Food Stash Foundation, Pembina Institute, and Story Money Impact Society. Larry Ho - Secretary
Larry serves as the CEO of The Arbutus Club, a modern recreation complex dedicated to putting families first. Originally from Las Vegas, Nevada he has worked in the hospitality and private club industry such as MGM Resorts International and Jericho Tennis Club. Larry has served in various committee and Director roles in non-profit organizations such as Volleyball BC and Burnaby Community Services. Larry earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Accountancy from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV).
David Schein - D
irector
David is the founder of Food Stash Foundation. Previously working as a language teacher at King David High School in Vancouver, David left his work as an educator to found Food Stash Foundation in September 2016. Now sitting on the Board of Directors, David continues to support Food Stash on its mission and is currently working again as a teacher.
Zander Brais -
Director
Zander is a Senior Strategic Advisor and Program Manager at Newmont Corporation, focusing on Asset & Energy Management and Decarbonization. He has a background in supply chain, operations, and technology consulting, where he helped businesses across a wide range of industries deliver high-profile projects with a strategic focus. Sophie Kelk - D

Sophie is the Marketing & Communications Manager for Coast Mental Health Foundation. With an agency background, she has a wealth of experience in PR, email marketing, social media, fundraising etc. Originally from the UK, she came to Vancouver seeking adventure and the great outdoors and is passionate about using her expertise to make the planet a better place.
Matt Livingston -
Director
Matt Livingston is a Principal Consultant at Anthesis Provision. Prior to Anthesis, Matt was Senior Specialist, Mission & Strategy for Nature’s Path Foods where he was responsible for leading the company’s multitude of sustainability initiatives and strategy. Matt formerly worked as Director of Sustainability at SPUD.ca where his team launched several industry-first and award-winning waste reduction programs. Read More
Anna Migicovsky -
Director
Anna is a long-term supporter of Food Stash starting from the dinner table conversation where the name "Food Stash" originated. She served as the founding board chair from 2016-2019. Professionally, Anna brings a unique perspective from her mix of non-profit, social enterprise and private sector experience. She has always been drawn to complex problems. With her background in science and experience in business, she is passionate about using human-centred design and systems thinking principles to help leaders implement change across their organizations.
Julie Dickson Olmstead - Director
A 35-year Food Industry veteran, Julie is a former Managing Director for Canada’s largest privately-held Western-based food retailer, Pattison Food Group, where she held responsibility for public affairs, ESG and DEI strategy, government and industry relation, food security, food rescue, sustainability, zero waste and environmental leadership projects. In addition to participating in a wide range of strategic food industry initiatives and cross-sectoral projects, today, she is the Vice Chairman of the board of the Canadian Centre for Food Integrity; is a member of the Management Board of Canada’s National Zero Waste Council; a member of the Canada’s Food Policy Advisory Council and serves clients across the country in their efforts to advance sustainability and food systems with community interests in mind.
Judy Lee - Director
Judy Lee has over 20 years of experience in operations and leadership across financial services, manufacturing, and non-profit sectors. She is currently a senior member of the Enterprise Projects team at Connor, Clark and Lunn Financial Group, overseeing large corporate and digital transformation initiatives. Read more.
Julia Boyle - Director
Julia Boyle is the Executive Director of Ishtar Women's Resource Society, a non-profit organization in Langley that helps women and their children rebuild their lives after escaping domestic violence. Julia also served as AutismBC's Executive Director and spent over five years working on health and gender projects across Africa. In 2023-24, Julia and her family spent a year living in Bali, immersed in an environmentally-minded community focused on returning to traditional farming practices and food systems. Julia hopes to keep the pace on this environmental work as a member of Food Stash's Board of Directors.
Karima Penman - Director
Passionate about all things food, Karima strongly believes in the power of food in bringing together family, friends and communities and the importance of respecting food and wasting nothing. With plenty of food to go around, and waste being atrociously high, she feels strongly committed to a future where distribution is more equitable, and food is respected for all it does to nourish us and bring us together, as it is in many cultures. With this shift in perspective, at an individual, societal and governmental level, we can help alleviate waste and its many related negative social, health and environmental impacts. Karima has practised corporate law for 20 years, bringing to the Board her experience in leadership, governance, environment & sustainability, transaction management and a wealth of experience working with corporate and government entities.
Sophie Bahen - Director
Sophie is an advocate for local food systems. She works for the federal government, and graduated from Dalhousie University with a Juris Doctor in 2021. She previously did bicycle deliveries for Sky Harvest Urban Farm, and has been involved with organizations including QMUNITY and Vancouver Farmers Markets.

Yvonne Huang -
Financial Advisor
Yvonne is an Accounting Professional who currently works at KPMG Vancouver as a Senior Accountant specializing in the mining industry. Yvonne is passionate about giving back to the community and is especially driven by social and environmental causes. She actively pursues sustainability initiatives and is committed to making the world a better place by supporting a more sustainable future. Yvonne holds a Master of Professional Accounting from the University of Saskatchewan and a Bachelor of Commerce from the UBC.
